Trader Todd's.

It's okay. It's tiki themed and there is karaoke almost every night, I think, and the service is fine and the food is really, really cheap during happy hour (you are limited to veggie burgers and appetizers, dear veggie friends, but it is really cheap) but it's still just okay. It's a nice place to stop in, get a veggie burger, fries and a beer for a few bucks, and get out quickly, but be prepared-- Trader Todd's sends a "party bus" to Cubs games to pick up drunk fratboys and bring the back to eat, drink and sing karaoke. While this can be hilarious, this can also be irritating, as fratboys aren't really known for having soothing personalities, especially when liquored and pissed off about the latest Cubs misfortune.

But, if you can swing in and swing out early on a weekday, or a non-game day or both, it's a good place for cheap, basic veggie eats. And, in the winter, when Chicago is dumping snow and forcing Seasonal Affective Disorder upon everyone, Trader Todd's is perky, bright, tiki-tropical and goes nuts every night at sunset.
